When are your meetings?

We meet on the third Saturday evening of every month in Seal Beach. Also, we have an evening of sessioning on the last Monday evening of each month at a casual restaurant in Seal Beach.

What happens at meetings?

Meetings are a time for members to come together to enjoy magic. Each month the club presents a different magic theme. On certain months, we have a professional magician perform and lecture. Members also compete in a close-up magic and stage magic competition once a year. And in October, members perform a Halloween magic show and we have a Holiday magic show and potluck dinner at the end of the year. During each meeting, the club raffles magic tricks and books to help fundraise for the club. Also an hour before the main 7:00 pm meeting, we have a workshop where a different magic topic is taught each month.

What lecturers have you had visit the club in the past?

We've had many excellent professional magicians who have performed and lectured at our club. Including John Guastaferro, Joshua Jay, Shawn Farquhar, David Jonathan, Jon Armstrong, David Regal, Daryl, Aldo Columbini, Gregory Wilson, Rafael Benetar, and Shoot Ogawa to name a few we've had the pleasure to visit Ring 96.

Do I have to perform at the meetings?

Everyone is encouraged to perform. But performance is on a volunteer basis. However, this is a great place to gain confidence by trying out new effects and receiving positive feedback from your peers.

What are the ages of your members?

We have members ranging from young adults to members in their twilight years.

Do the club members perform one type of magic more than another?

We have members who specialize in card magic, to coin magic, to stage magic and even escapes. Some prefer stage magic while others might choose mentalism or close up magic.
