HOW TO JOIN
IBM RING 96
In order to officially join, you must be a member of the IBM national organziation. To get an application, you can go directly to their website, www.magician.org, ande click on the "Guests" section to get an application. You can also ask for one when you attend a Ring 96 meeting.
Once you have the application, you'll need two IBM members to sponsor you and supply their signatures. When you come to a Ring 96 meeting, you'll find that it will be very easy to obtain them there.
At this point, you have a choice. You can wait until IBM accepts your application (in which case, see above for what happens next) or you can start the process of joining Ring 96 simultaneously with the process of joining the IBM national organization.
If you decide to start the process of joining Ring 96 simultaneously with joining the IBM national organization, then show up to our meeting and let us know you're interested in joining. We'll have you fill out the Ring 96 membership application. You'll then be required to give a "reading" (introducing yourself to the club) each time you attend the meeting until your name appears in The Linking Ring magazine as a new member. Usually, that takes about three months.
At the next meeting after your name appears in The Linking Ring, the club will vote on your membership and, if voted in, you can pay your dues (currently $20) and become a welcome member of our club!
FOR THOSE ALREADY A MEMBER OF IBM,
BUT NOT A RING 96 MEMBER
Simply show up to our meeting and let us know you're interested in joining. We'll have you do a "reading" (introducing yourself to the club) and fill out the Ring 96 membership application. Then, the club will vote on your membership and, if voted in, you can pay your dues (currently $20) and become a welcome member of our club!
FOR THOSE WHO ARE NEITHER A MEMBER OF IBM,
NOR A RING 96 MEMBER
